About me

Hello and welcome to Captain Physics.

I’m Huw, a fully qualified Physics teacher and Head of Physics with over 10 years’ experience in UK schools. I’m the creator of the Captain Physics YouTube channel, originally set up to support my Year 11 GCSE students through their exams - and now helping thousands of students across the world!

I specialise in helping students build confidence, understand difficult concepts, and improve exam technique to achieve their best possible grades in GCSE and A-Level Physics. I aim to make video resources that focus on clear explanations, strong problem-solving skills, and also teaching students effective revision strategies.

As a regular AQA examiner for GCSE & A-level Physics, I also give students valuable insight into how marks are awarded, helping them maximise their performance in exams.

I have successfully tutored many students to excellent GCSE and A-Level results, alongside my extensive teaching experience.
